1. Data controller
- Controller: Rubén Cañadas
- Contact email: info@gruadirecta.com
- Website: https://gruadirecta.com
This website is a personal project with no income or active commercial contracting. It may collect requests for information about future services, with no payment or commitment. If this changes, the controller information will be expanded with the applicable tax details.
2. Information we process
This website can be browsed without creating an account. No personal information is required to browse. The towing company form is voluntary and is used only to handle the request submitted.
- Technical and browsing data. The server automatically records the IP address, date and time, requested page, and browser in its logs. This is part of the normal operation of a web server and is used for security and diagnostics.
- Information you send to us. If you email us, we process the information included in your message so we can reply and, when applicable, correct the information you identify.
- Towing company applications. If you use the business form, we collect the selected plan, business name, contact person, email, phone number, city and state, website or public profile, Spanish-language availability, services, and any comments you choose to provide. Do not include identity documents, bank details, or other sensitive information.
- Your location, only when you choose to share it. City pages include a button for sorting companies by distance and calculating a route on the map. When you press it, your browser asks for permission and provides your coordinates only if you agree. Location is never requested automatically when the page loads.
How coordinates are used:
- Sorting by distance and displaying your position on the map happens entirely in your browser. This information does not reach our server and is not stored there.
- Calculating a route to a company requires sending your position and the company’s position to the OpenStreetMap routing service (OSRM, section 5). This happens only after you request a route.
Your coordinates are not stored on our servers, are not associated with an identifier, and disappear when you close the tab. We do not profile users or make automated decisions about them.
3. Legal basis and purposes
- Legitimate interests in keeping the website secure and operational (server logs).
- Your consent when you voluntarily contact us, so we can respond to your message.
- Your request and the pre-contractual steps you ask us to take, so we can review the business, respond about the selected plan, and prepare a proposal when appropriate. Submitting the form does not create a purchase or charge.
4. Retention
Server logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the security purposes described above. Correspondence and towing company applications are kept while the matter is being handled and for up to 12 months after the last communication, unless you request deletion sooner or a legal obligation requires a longer retention period.
5. Recipients and service providers
We do not sell, rent, or disclose personal information to third parties for their own commercial purposes.
The website uses third-party services that may receive your IP address as part of normal web operation:
- OpenStreetMap tile servers provide the map images on city pages and receive your IP address when those images load.
- OSRM — OpenStreetMap routing service receives your coordinates and the selected company’s coordinates to return the route and estimated travel time. It is contacted only when you expressly request a route.
- Google Fonts provides the website typography.
- Gmail (Google) receives and stores information submitted through the business form in the GrúaDirecta mailbox so we can review and respond to the request.
- Google Maps is contacted only after you click a Google Maps navigation or business profile link and leave this website.
These services are governed by their own privacy policies. When you call a listed towing company, the call is made directly to that company and the information you provide is subject to its own privacy practices.
6. International transfers
The providers listed above may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable, those transfers rely on the mechanisms permitted by the relevant data protection laws.
7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data by writing to the email address in section 1 and providing reasonable proof of identity. You may also file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you believe your information has not been handled in accordance with applicable law.
8. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you specific rights regarding personal information we collect:
- Right to know which categories of personal information we collect, why we collect them, and with whom we disclose them. Sections 2, 3, and 5 provide this information.
- Right to request deletion of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We do not provide a different or inferior service to people who exercise them.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by the CCPA. Therefore, the website does not currently provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. If this changes, the link will be provided before the change takes effect.
To exercise any of these rights, write to the email address in section 1 and describe your request. We will respond within the periods required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf after providing reasonable evidence of that authorization.
9. Children
This website is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Cookies
Our use of cookies is described in the Cookie Policy.
11. Changes to this policy
Any changes will be published on this page together with the updated revision date.
